Landscapes and expressive photography
The galleries in this area cover three creative styles of both black and white and colour photography. All are interpretive to some extent. All the images are taken with digital SLR cameras, the black and white conversions and processing being created with Photoshop.
The first is a bold graphic style based on observation of the geometric qualities of photographic subjects. The processing varies from shot to shot, some being very heavily processed, yet some are barely touched after leaving the camera.
The second is an interpretive gallery of fine art black and white photography, moody, often dark and gritty. From December 2011 I am adding colour images to the collection. Once more, these are very moody and interpretive, creative photography. Most are heavily processed and though I rarely add grain to any images I often work an image hard if grain emerges. Some of these images were displayed in my second photography exhibition Stark Reality held at the Abbot Hall Gallery in Kendal, Northwest England.
Third, a more conventional 'pictorial' interpretation of black and white photography. These images tend to be more relaxed and a lighter mood, often using long exposure techniques including multiple exposure, graduated and neutral density filters. There is often more post processing involved in creating these images than producing my more moody landscapes.
All images are available as signed limited edition fine art photographic prints. I print my own images using Epson Ultra-chrome inks and Harman professional papers for a high quality and long lasting photographic print.
